Natasia Demetriou - Nadja, What We Do in the Shadows

What We Do in the Shadows is a comedy-fantasy series created by Jemaine Clement, based on his 2014 film of the same name co-directed with Taika Waititi. Set in Staten Island, New York, this false documentary follows the daily lives of four vampires, Nandor, Laszlo, Nadja and Colin Robinson, who have lived as roommates for hundreds of years, and one human, Guillermo. Poorly adapted to our times, they panic when their former Master returns from Europe with ambitions to conquer the New World.

Nadja d'Antipaxos is a 500-year-old vampire. She was born in Greece to a poor family in the 15th century, but it's not clear how she became a vampire, as she tells a completely different story from her husband, Laszlo. A leader and seductress, she is much more sensitive to other supernatural presences, unlike other vampires.

Natasia Demetriou is an English humorist, actress and screenwriter. She made her television debut in the sitcom "Dr. Brown" (2012), in which she performed various roles and sketches. In 2014, her debut show "You'll Never Have All of Me" won the Skinny Debutant Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In addition, she has long been a member of the sketch comedy troupe Oyster Eyes and has written for the sitcoms "Anna & Katy" and "The Midnight Beast".

In 2019, she stars in and writes, with Ellie White, their highly acclaimed show "Ellie & Natasia", inspired by social anxiety and being a woman in today's society. That same year, she landed the role of Nadja, a Rom-Greek vampire, in the critically acclaimed comedy-fantasy-horror series "What We Do in the Shadows".

Since May 2020, she has co-hosted Netflix's unscripted reality show "The Big Flower Fight" with Vic Reeves. The series features 10 duos facing off in a competition featuring huge flower installations. The winner will design an installation to be exhibited in London's Royal Botanic Gardens, in Kew.

In 2020, she appeared in the musical film "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga", in the role of Nina. The following year, she had a regular role in the second season of the sitcom "This Time with Alan Partridge". In 2022, she co-wrote and starred in the sitcom "Ellie & Natasia", alongside her comedy partner Ellie White.
