Reign is an American television series created by Laurie McCarthy and Stephanie Sengupta. Set in the late 16th century and loosely based on the life of Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots, it follows her story when she arrives, at the age of 16, at the French court of King Henry II to be betrothed to Prince Francis II. But her future does not look as she expected. Her marriage is uncertain, her rise to power at the French court is plagued by obstacles, the alliance with France is fragile, and many dangers threaten her, including war with England, ruled by Queen Elizabeth I, a formidable enemy.
Mary Stuart is the Queen of Scotland, the only surviving child of her father, King James V, and therefore the sole heir to the crown. In order to forge an alliance between France and Scotland, she has been betrothed to Prince Francis since childhood. Passionate and poised, outgoing and fearless, Marie is a true leader, whether it be her ability to work under pressure or her ability to rally her subjects. From the moment she arrived at court, she faced every obstacle with strength and courage. Her instinctive desire to protect her country sometimes puts her at odds with those closest to her, but she always manages to resolve all conflicts with them. As time goes by and tragic events occur, her heart hardens, but these events make her a powerful monarch, who was able to maintain a fair and just regime.
Adelaide Kane is an Australian actress and model. She began performing at the age of 3, starting with dance and then moving on to singing and acting. At age 6, she began working professionally in print ads, before moving on to television commercials and then various children's television shows.
She became known for her roles as Lolly Allen on the soap opera "Neighbours" and Tenaya (7/15) on the series "Power Rangers RPM". But it was in 2013 that her fame became international, thanks to her role as Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots, in the widely popular series "Reign". Among these successful series, she also played the role of Cora Hale in the third season of the MTV series "Teen Wolf" (2017), and Drizella/Ivy in the seventh and final season of the ABC hit series "Once Upon a Time" (2017-2018). In 2020, she joined the main cast of the sci-fi film "Cosmic Sin", and made an appearance in the series "This Is Us" as Hailey Damon, Kate and Toby's adopted daughter.
Since 2022, she plays the main role of Dr. Jules Millin in the 19th season of "Grey's Anatomy".
