Samantha Carter, Stargate SG-1.
Samantha Carter is one of the main characters in the Stargate SG-1 series. She is a brilliant scientist and astrophysicist, working for the Pentagon. First Captain, Major, then later promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, Samantha joined SG-1, a military team created to explore other planets for the secret Stargate program.
Amanda Tapping began her career in the theatre. She participates in advertisements, then begins to make some appearances in series such as The X-Files and The Outer Limits. In 1997, she won her first lead role, Samantha Carter, in the Stargate SG-1 series. It is this series that will make her known. She will also take over this role in the spin-offs Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe. In 2007, she played the lead role in the Sanctuary series, of which she is also one of the executive producers. She will also direct episodes for many series such as The Magicians, Van Helsing, Supernatural and Blindspot.
