Jane The Virgin : Jane, a young woman, very devout and still a virgin, is about to get engaged. But following a gynecological check-up appointment, she accidentally finds herself pregnant, artificially inseminated, instead of another woman, the wife of the handsome Rafael, owner of the luxury hotel where Jane works. She gradually falls in love with the father of the baby and is faced with a dilemma: abort, become their surrogate mother or raise the child as her own.


Gina Rodriguez is an American actress, producer and director. She made her debut on the small screen in the 2000s and in movies in 2010 with the comedy Father's War, then in Go For It!, where she plays a hip-hop dancer, a role that earned her a first nomination for the Imagen Awards.

In 2011, she landed a recurring role in the hit series Love, Glory and Beauty. The following year, she landed the lead role in the musical drama Filly Brown and signed a performance as a rapper that won her the Best Actress award at the Imagen Awards as well as the First Run Film Festival.

In 2014, she gained popularity when she landed the lead role in the series Jane the Virgin. This success led her to the Golden Globes where she won the Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series category. She went on to win awards and nominations, and in 2016, she was voted "Female Star of Tomorrow" by the National Association of Theatre Owners. That same year, she starred in the film Deepwater, a box office success.

She made her directorial debut in the final season of Jane the Virgin, and later directed an episode of the Charmed reboot. Her work behind the camera was recognized with a nomination at the 50th NAACP Image Awards. In 2019, she starred in Catherine Hardwicke's Miss Bala, and is collaborating with CW to produce a Jane the Virgin spin-off called Jane the Novela. At the same time, she is participating as a producer and director in the series Diary of a Future President, centered on a young Cuban-American woman who is a future president of the United States.

Gina is also involved in various charitable organizations. She is a partner in Naja, an all-size lingerie brand that primarily employs single mothers and promotes self-acceptance and empowerment for single women. In 2016, she became a board member of the Hispanic Studies Fund, which supports Spanish-speaking higher education.
