Pretty Little Liars is an American series, adapted from the literary series The Liars by Sara Shepard. The series follows five best friends who, one year after the disappearance of one of them, start receiving strange messages signed "-A" threatening to reveal all their secrets. Emily Fields is the quietest, shyest and kindest of the group. Passionate and loyal, she turns out to be one of the bravest and develops a strong leadership character.
Shay Mitchell is a Canadian actress and model. She took dance lessons and entered competitions at a young age, and was soon noticed by a modeling agency. She then moved back to Toronto to study acting and got her first role in 2009 in an episode of the Canadian series Degrassi: The Next Generation. She also appeared in several commercials and in the video Hold My Hand by Sean Paul.
Also in 2009, she landed the role of Emily Fields in the series Pretty Little Liars, while she had auditioned for the role of Spencer Hastings. The series is very successful and allows Mitchell to climb in fame. She became the muse of several major brands such as Pantene in 2011, Adidas in 2018, Cacharel in 2020. She lands her first film role in the film Mother's Day and shares the screen with Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Julia Roberts, then is propelled as the lead in 2018 in the horror film The Possession of Hannah Grace. She later returned to television in the series The Heiresses, and then in 2019 in Dolface produced by Margot Robbie.
