Nomzamo Mbatha is a South African actress, of Zulu ethnicity, businesswoman and human rights activist.

 

She started her career in 2012, when she auditioned for a television show. Two years later, in 2014, she played a small role in the series "Isibaya", before becoming one of the main characters. The following year, she made her film debut in "Tell Me Sweet Something", a performance that earned her a Best Actress nomination at the Africa Movie Academy Awards. That same year, she joined the television show "Umlilo" (2015-2016), and made her debut as a television host in the travel reality show "Holiday Swap". In 2021, she appeared in the film "Coming 2 America."

 

In 2015, Mbatha became the first South African to represent the Neutrogena brand. She is also an Ambassador for the UNHCR, a United Nations program which original goal is to protect refugees and find durable solutions to help them rebuild their lives, as well as to ensure the implementation of the 1951 Geneva Convention on Refugees. In this regard, Mbatha spent time visiting Kenyan refugee camps in 2018. The following year, she was named a Goodwill Ambassador for the organization, and was inducted as an honorary member of the Golden Key International Honor Society, which celebrates and supports leadership and scholars from around the world.
