Doctor Who tells the adventures of the Doctor, an alien of unknown race, Time Lord traveling through time and space with the help of a time-spacecraft, the TARDIS, having the external appearance of a British telephone booth. When he is mortally wounded, he survives by regenerating and then changes his appearance, sometimes his personality without forgetting his previous lives and memories. For the first time since the beginning of the series, in 1963, the Thirteenth Doctor takes the appearance of a woman.

Jodie Whittaker is a British actress. She studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and made her professional debut in 2005 at the famous Globe Theatre. She got her first major film role in the movie Venus, in 2007, alongside Peter O'Toole and Leslie Phillips. She appeared in the short film Wish 143 in 2009, nominated the same year at the Oscars in the category "Best Fiction Short Film". From 2013 to 2017, she played the role of Beth Latimer in the series Broadchurch with David Tennant and Olivia Colman. Her career took a turn in 2017, when she was announced in the role of the Thirteenth Doctor in the cult series Doctor Who.
