The series follows the story of Miriam Maisel, a young Jewish housewife and mother living in New York City, who discovers a talent for stand-up comedy. After being left by her husband, she goes on stage and improvises a sketch about her predicament, and is a huge hit with the audience.
Rachel Brosnahan is an American actress. A 2012 graduate of the Tisch School of the Arts, she is best known for her roles in the films Unborn (2009) and Beautiful Creatures (2013) and in the series House of Cards. Since 2017, she has played the lead role in the hit series The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, for which she notably won two Golden Globes for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Series, in 2018 and 2019.
